"Revolutionizing Mosaic Art"

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the imagery and size for my Exactmosaic artwork?

  • If you have a particular photograph/image in mind, we can design the mosaic from that photograph/image. If you only have the general subject matter in mind, we can work with you in choosing imagery for your ExactMosaic artwork. There are several guidelines we use in choosing the imagery and size: Measure the location where you intend to display the mosaic for size. The larger the mosaic, the greater the visual detail will be. For this reason, we do not accept orders for mosaics smaller than 5 square feet. For photos with single or multiple faces, please allow a minimum of 2 square feet to reproduce the details within each face.

How do I send you the photos?

  • You have four options for sending the pictures:

    1) Send your digital photographs directly through the Proof Request Page on the ExactMosaic website
    2) Email the photos to info@exactmosaics.com
    3) Mail a CD with the digital images to ExactMosaics.
    4) Mail the photographic prints to ExactMosaics. A fee will be added for scanning the photographic prints.

Can I send you “real” photographs or do they have to be digital?

  • We can accept either real photographic prints or digital prints. If you want, we will mail the CD or photograph prints back to you. However, we cannot accept responsibility for prints that are lost or damaged. If requested we will register, track, and insure the mail. We will add the additional shipping and handling charges to the purchase cost. What resolution, size, DPI (dots per inch) and file format do you need for the digital pictures? For mosaics between 5 square feet and 20 square feet, the image file size should be at least 0.5MB (the larger the file, the greater the detail). For mosaics over 20 square feet in size, we need to have a higher resolution photograph (over 1.0 MB). Any file format is sufficient.

Do I get to see a draft/proof of the Exactmosaic artwork before the mosaic is actually constructed?

  • We will email you a photograph proof that approximates what the constructed ExactMosaic will look like before we construct the actual mosaic. If you have changes to the design, we will make them at that time before construction actually begins. Once you have approved the draft/proof, you cannot make changes to the design of the mosaic and you will be charged for the mosaic.

We are committed to customer satisfaction with our products. However, ExactMosaic artworks are costly to produce because of the labor intensiveness and the high-quality of the marble that we use.

How long from when I send the pictures to when I receive the draft/proof?

  • Please allow for 1 week from the date when we receive your pictures. Rush orders are available upon request.

How long from when I approve the draft/proof to when I receive the mosaic?

What are my payment options? How much does a ExactMosaic artwork cost?

  • We accept cash, check, and credit cards. Pricing depends on the detail of the piece (approximately $250 per sq ft). square foot. Please contact Exactmosaics for a price quote.

What is the quality of the finished ExactMosaic artwork?

  • The product is a high quality mosaic made from the best materials in the world. We only use the natural veining within marble or the graining within wood to compose the image. We do not change the natural color of the tiles in any way (through printing, painting, staining, etc.). The Marble Art mosaics are made from polished marble (each marble piece is approximately 5/8” X 5/8”). The Wood Art mosaics are made from oak, teak and pine tiles (each tile is approximately 3/4” X 3/4”).
